The ARMY brand redesigned and the Bengals poke fun at the Browns.
Army there yet?
The US military athletic brand is redesigning their ARMY logos and lettering. They’re also re-introducing their “Cadets” nickname, after being known as the “Black Knights” for some years. Nike is involved, naturally. You can click on the video above for some insight into the thinking behind the new design.
“The “primary identity” will be an ‘athena shield,’ with a helmet, sword and star under the color palette of gold, black, gray and white. It’s all about honoring the school’s ‘soldier scholars.’” More…
If you’re going to make a meal out of launching a logo redesign, maybe the new design should be different enough to actually make a meal out of. Back in February, fans were perplexed when the Cleveland Browns football franchise launched a new logo that many said wasn’t all that different from the old one. In fact, just the colour had changed… to a different shade of orange.
Cue a poke in the ribs for the Browns this month when The Bengals “launched” a new logo … on April 1. Notice the change? No?
